Catalyst and OneSky Housing Society have created a much-needed affordable rental housing project in Downtown Penticton, close to entertainment like Landmark Cinemas and other activities such as restaurants, shops and the local Bike Barn.

The Rise provides 56 affordable rental homes (studios to three-bedroom apartments) suitable for families and individuals. A portion of the homes will be designed to accommodate people with physical disabilities.

The Rise Features:

  • Pets are allowed with a limit of one dog or one cat per unit except for birds and exotic animals
  • 42 parking stalls are available for an additional monthly fee
  • A shared community room and beautiful outdoor area

Madrona

Madrona is an exciting place to call home, located in what is considered to be one of the greenest communities in North America, Dockside Green in Victoria BC. Madrona is located at the center of a vibrant community and numerous nearby amenities make this an ideal location. These include: a Save-On foods at Westside Village, Fol Epi bakery, Caffé Fantastico, Trek bicycle shop, Good Life Fitness, and many others. Being located right on the Galloping Goose Trail, Madrona is a short walk or bike ride to Downtown Victoria and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Hannelore

On the site of the Oakridge Lutheran Church, there is a bright and colourful mixed-use and LEED Platinum building. Hannelore consists of four levels of affordable rental housing, atop of the Church and a commercial space. The new Oakridge Plaza development adjacent will offer residents access to shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, and a host of other services. Hannelore is jointly owned by the OLC Housing Society and operated by Catalyst Community Developments Society.

Creekside

Nestled in the heart of District of Tofino, set against a gorgeous backdrop of coastal forest, is the newest housing development called Creekside. This complex is situated approximately 2.5 km south of the village centre, and all the shopping essentials, and close to Chesterman Beach and its vast recreation area.

Headwaters

Tofino Housing Corporation and Catalyst Community Developments Society have been working to develop two apartment buildings on two separate legal parcels originating from District Lot 114. The North Building has 35 units and the South Building has 37 units for a total of 72 units of affordable rental housing. The target audience for these homes is families, seniors, persons with a disability and singles with household incomes that meet the targets of the BC Housing Community Housing Fund (CHF) program. The building common spaces, both indoor and outdoor, as well as the new road to be built to access and service the buildings also follows universal design principles such that residents and visitors with various levels of mobility will be able to use the spaces. The new road includes a paved, separated, multi-modal path on the south side to provide a safe space for walking, biking as well as the use of strollers, rolling walkers and wheelchairs. A mix of studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units to be rented to families, seniors and others at a range of different rents. This project is a partnership between Catalyst, BC Housing and the Tofino Housing Corporation.
