Manager, Investment

"I am excited to help create new models for real estate development that allow non-profits to work together as true partners, and leverage their assets to deliver on their social and financial objectives."

Josh Taylor manages the financial feasibility and structuring of Catalyst projects through the development process. This includes from initial concept, through approvals, construction and occupancy. He also leads Catalyst’s consulting work, and supports the President in the generation of new projects.

He joined Catalyst in its year first of operations, and over the past 3 years has supported Catalyst in building a development pipeline of over $160 million, consisting of over 500 secured non-market rental homes across BC. Josh’s focus is currently on the financial and legal structuring of our real estate projects that are often joint ventures between non-profits. He also focuses on how these developments can support the missions’ of the organizations we partner with.

Josh works for Catalyst because he believes in harnessing the value created by real estate towards a more equitable, and restorative built environment.  He has a graduate degree from the School of Community and Regional Planning at UBC, and an undergraduate degree in International Development and Economics from Queens’s University. In his spare time he is avid reader, an aspiring carpenter, and a proud Big Brother with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver.
