Catalyst’s capacity to deliver high impact projects depends on the mobilization of “social equity”. Individuals and foundations can invest in developments that create significant community benefit AND provide a reasonable financial return.
In some cases, the social equity investments are loaned to the project for the duration of the development and repaid upon completion of construction. In other cases, they can remain in the project for longer terms, with interest paid over time, and principal repaid once debt has been reduced through project rental revenues.
